Conventional Earthing

Sturdax conventional earthing solutions provide dependable grounding for electrical installations where safe fault-current dissipation, mechanical durability and long-term performance are essential.

The range includes Plate Earthing in copper and hot-dip galvanised configurations, along with Perforated Pipe Earthing for industrial, commercial, infrastructure and general electrical grounding applications.

Conventional Electrode

Plate Earthing

Sturdax Plate Earthing is a conventional grounding solution in which a conductive metal plate is installed vertically below ground level and connected to the electrical installation through a suitable earthing conductor.

The large surface area of the electrode provides effective contact with the surrounding soil for dissipation of fault and leakage currents. Plate earthing systems are available in Copper and Hot-Dip Galvanised configurations to suit different project, environmental and material requirements.

Copper

Copper Plate Earthing

Manufactured from copper for applications requiring high electrical conductivity, reliable current dissipation and good corrosion resistance.

Hot-Dip Galvanised

HDGI Plate Earthing

Manufactured using galvanised steel for a strong, durable and economical conventional grounding solution.

  • Large soil-contact surface area
  • Copper and HDGI options
  • Strong mechanical construction
  • Suitable for conventional grounding
  • Project-specific conductor options
  • Compatible with earthing chambers

Perforated Pipe Earthing

Sturdax Perforated Pipe Earthing is a conventional grounding solution manufactured using a galvanised steel pipe provided with multiple perforations along the electrode body.

The electrode is installed vertically in the soil and connected to the electrical earthing system through a suitable GI strip or conductor. The perforated construction supports interaction between the electrode, surrounding soil and conductive backfill while providing a durable metallic path for fault-current dissipation.

  • Durable galvanised construction
  • Multiple diameter options
  • Multiple electrode lengths
  • Perforated electrode configuration
  • Suitable for GI earthing networks
  • Customisation available

Earthing Methods

Two proven conventional solutions.

Plate and perforated pipe electrodes provide two established approaches to conventional grounding. Selection depends on project requirements, soil conditions, electrode material, installation method and the overall earthing system design.

01

Plate Earthing

A conductive plate is installed vertically below ground level to provide a large metallic contact surface with the surrounding soil.

  • Copper or HDGI plate construction
  • Connected through suitable earthing strip
  • Suitable for electrical equipment and installation earthing
  • Custom dimensions available as per project requirement
02

Perforated Pipe Earthing

A galvanised pipe electrode is installed vertically into the ground with perforations distributed along the electrode body.

  • GI / hot-dip galvanised construction
  • Multiple pipe diameters and lengths
  • Suitable for connection with GI earthing strips
  • Custom configurations available as per customer requirement
