Pipe Earthing Electrodes

Sturdax pipe earthing electrodes are engineered for dependable grounding where efficient current dissipation, durable construction and long service life are essential. The range is available in copper-bonded and hot-dip galvanised steel variants to suit different project, soil and corrosion conditions.

Both material options are offered in Flat-in-Pipe and Pipe-in-Pipe configurations, using conductive compound around the internal current-carrying member to support effective grounding performance across industrial, commercial, power, telecom, solar and lightning protection installations.

Copper Bonded

Copper Pipe Electrode

Sturdax copper-bonded earthing electrodes are designed for high-performance grounding applications where low earth resistance and long-term electrical reliability are essential. The copper-bonded construction combines the conductivity of copper with the strength of steel for effective fault current dissipation and extended service life.

Available in Flat-in-Pipe and Pipe-in-Pipe configurations, these electrodes are suitable for substations, data centres, telecom infrastructure, solar projects and lightning protection systems.

Construction Types

Flat-in-Pipe vs Pipe-in-Pipe.

The two variants use the same outer electrode concept and conductive compound fill, but differ in the internal member. Flat-in-Pipe uses an MS flat strip, while Pipe-in-Pipe uses a second inner pipe. The cutaway illustrations below make that construction difference easy to see.

The copper-bonded version is shown in both internal arrangements so project teams can clearly distinguish the flat-strip construction from the inner-pipe construction.

The hot-dip galvanised version follows the same two construction formats, with the external and internal metal components finished according to the HDGI product specification.
